Make Music Day UK
Make Music Day UK is spearheaded by the nonprofit organizations Music For All and Making Music. Over the last three years, Make Music Day UK has quickly grown, reaching 1,103 performances across England, Scotland, and Wales on June 21, 2019.
Music Making Across the Country
Highlights of Make Music Day UK in 2019 included Durham and Darlington’s county-wide festivities in partnership with NYMAZ, involving over 17,000 participants; carnival troupe Kinetika Bloco parading through London Bridge; Abingdon’s inaugural town music festival; and a huge celebration in the middle of Lincoln. Over 100 libraries from Brighton & Hove to Edinburgh Central offered the gamut of music for all ages. Countless workshops, open mics, and participatory performances took place nationwide.
