Bethel Arts is coordinating the “Make Music Day Bethel” on June 21, 2024
What is it?
Make Music Day Bethel is a free celebration of music on June 21st, (the summer solstice). Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music Bethel is open to anyone who wants to take part. Local musicians will play short sets in public spaces around town and in selected restaurants and other businesses. And everyone is invited to sing along and enjoy the first day of summer. This is a special day for musicians who want to participate in the world’s largest annual music event. Make Music Day is observed on the same day, June 21, in more than 1,000 cities around the world.
Who can participate?
Musicians: Anyone and everyone. Amateurs, professionals, and established artists are all welcome to participate.
Venues: Any place and everywhere in Bethel can be a venue.

Do musicians get paid?
The Make Music Day Bethel organizers do not pay musicians – nor do musicians pay to perform. Most musicians perform for free. But artists and venues are welcome to make any financial arrangements they wish, as long as the concerts are free to attend, unticketed, and in public spaces.
Bethel Arts has established a relationship with Make Music Day global non-profit organization, and we are organizing and scheduling musicians, presenters and venues for a fun and free day of music in and around downtown Bethel.

How to Make Music on June 21st
Register:
Using our matchmaking software venues and musicians can register, create profiles and find a match for their Make Music Bethel performance.
- If you are a place where others can come to perform you are a venue and you should register here.
- If you will be performing you are a musician/performer and should register here.
Once there are musicians and venues you can reach-out to each other and make a match.
If, as a musician, you have your own location your registration as a musician is all you need to do.

Make Music Day is a global event on June 21st of every year, this year it’s a Friday.
Do you get paid?
No, although you can feel free to request tips from the audience Make Music Day is a free event for everyone. It’s a chance to celebrate music as a whole and show the community what talent is out there.
What will the locations provide for music makers?
Public locations will provide an electrical outlet.
What if it rains?
Most likely we’d have to cancel outdoor locations. Some outdoor locations may have inside back-up locations. Inside locations will go as planned.
Who can get involved?
Literally anyone. If you ever wanted to perform in public now is your chance.
