Make Music Boston Mass Appeals

Ever wanted to learn how to play the harmonica and kazoo? Do you have a ukelele laying around that you never learned how to play? Maybe you’ve been waiting for the right time to learn how to bucket drum? Well, now’s your chance!
On June 21st, Make Music Boston festival will fill Boston’s outdoor spaces and music venues with live performances, free and open to the public.
During the festival, we host mass appeals where we invite the public to come join us as we make our own music and celebrate the summer solstice!
Below is a list of our mass appeal events this year. We hope to see you at one of them!
BUCKET DRUMMING MASS APPEAL // 10am-2pm // Boston Common Visitors Center
Jam on buckets with professional drummers at the Boston Common! You’ll get a pair of free drum sticks from Vic Firth.

KAZOO WORKSHOP // 5-6pm // Ramsay Park
Learn to play the Kazoo with the American Family Happy Institute. Don’t have a kazoo? Don’t worry! Participants will receive a free kazoo practice with!
HARMONICA MASS APPEAL // 5-6pm // Magazine Beach
Come learn to play (or bring your talent!) with John Shirley from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. You’ll receive a free harmonica to play while John teaches you some tricks and tunes.
UKULELE MASS APPEAL // 7-8pm // Magazine Beach
Bring your own ukulele to play along with Tom Malone! Tom will teach you a few tunes and lead the community ensemble in a live performance. Free songbooks will be available to participants.
