Chattanooga Sets the Stage with Record-Breaking Success for Make Music Day 2024

Chattanooga, TN – Make Music Day 2024 was a resounding success, with Chattanooga taking center stage as the largest Make Music Day festival in Tennessee and securing a spot among the Top 10 Largest Make Music Day Festivals in the United States. This year’s celebration brought together 48 business and community partners, featured 100 live performances, and activated 44 unique locations across the city.

“As a musician myself, I know that music and art are not luxuries; they are essential for building a vibrant community and bringing us together,” said Mayor Tim Kelly. “There is no great city in the world without a thriving music scene. Congratulations to the Make Music Day Chattanooga team for their success highlighting the world-class musical talent and support for the arts we have here in Chattanooga. Their hard work made us one of the 10 best Make Music Day festivals in the entire country. Bravo!”

Thanks to the collective efforts of partners including ArtsBuild, Chattanooga Tourism Co., the City of Chattanooga, Hamilton County Government, Lyndhurst Foundation, RISE Chattanooga, River City Company, SoundCorps, SoundMind Creative Strategies, and more, Make Music Day 2024 transformed the city into a lively, musical stage. From venues and parks to restaurants and attractions, the event connected people through the universal language of music.

“Our community has been making music that reaches the world stage for generations, so it’s fitting that this was home to one of the largest Make Music Day celebrations in the country,” said Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp. “We hope the success of this year’s celebration sets the stage for future growth in the years to come.”

Event Highlights:

  • 48 Business and Community Partners: A diverse partnership of organizations, businesses, and community groups came together to make the day possible.
  • 100 Performances: Local musicians and bands brought their sounds to every corner of the city, offering a full day of free music to the public.
  • 44 Locations: Music filled Chattanooga’s venues, parks, attractions and businesses, creating a citywide celebration of music.
  • Largest Festival in Tennessee: Chattanooga proudly led the state with the most Make Music Day performances and activities.
  • Top 10 Largest Make Music Day Festival: Chattanooga’s incredible participation earned it a spot among the nation’s largest Make Music Day events.
