MAKE MUSIC CHEQUAMEGON BAY is a free, Chequamegon Bay area-wide celebration of neighbors going outside and making music as part of National Make Music Day.  Featuring music makers of all ages and abilities, this event is sponsored by the Garland City Consort, La Pointe Center for the Arts, Town of La Pointe Public Art Committee, Madeline Island community representatives, and Create Wisconsin.

Beginning in 1982 in France as a national holiday known as “Le Féte de la Musique,” this event has grown to over 1000 cities and towns in over 120 countries and is now known worldwide as MAKE MUSIC DAY.  MAKE MUSIC CHEQUAMEGON BAY is a proud participant in this worldwide phenomenon.

Make Music Chequamegon Bay events on Friday, June 21

Ashland
Garland City Consort, with a concert of baroque music at the Ashland Band Shell, 6 pm

Madeline Island
All performances will take place at the location of Bell Street and Russell Park. 

All times are approximate. 

Stage Mobile Performances:

10:30 am – Kazoo/Instrumental Band travels on ferry to Bayfield and back to the island

11:30 am – Arrival to Bell Street with Old La Pointe sing along

11:45 am-4:00 pm Local musicians of all ages playing all genre (groups, duets, solo) performing on the stage mobile

6:00-8:00 pm  Rod Cerar & Orchestra (polka)

1:00-2:00 pm   Sound Bath Healing and Movement at Healing Motion Wellness Center

4:30-5:30 pm   Madeline Island Chamber Music – Young Artist Ensembles at Bell Street Gallery

6:00 pm – ?     Nick Hensley & Tony Cuchetti at Tom’s Burned Down

7:30 – 9:00 pm  Madeline Island Chamber Music – Faculty Concert: Windscape at Madeline Island Clubhouse
