Windy City Winds

Windy City Winds is a large community concert band. Our 60 talented woodwind, brass, and percussion players perform formal indoor concerts and lighter outdoor neighborhood concerts. Our concert theme this year is "POP STARS - From Sousa to Taylor Swift!" We are “Chicago’s Community Band”. We are a not-for-profit organization of unpaid volunteers. Our membership is diverse in age, race, ethnicity, beliefs, profession, gender, and sexual orientation. We live in Chicago neighborhoods from Morgan Park to Rogers Park. All our concerts are accessible to everyone and admission free. Our music touches hearts and inspires audiences. We perform original wind music, orchestral transcriptions, film music, Broadway medleys, marches, and music by contemporary composers. We feature composers of color, female composers, and Chicago area composers and soloists. We have performed at Make Music Chicago since 2016.
