Lux Cantorum Chicago
Lux Cantorum is the Chicago area's oldest uniquely-sacred choral ensemble. Founded in 1947 as the Lutheran Choir of Chicago, LCC today embraces the challenges of the 21st century: "nurturing and inclusive, creative community by sharing the transformative power of sacred choral music." Through performances, outreach, collaboration, and repertoire, Lux Cantorum Chicago continues to embrace an ever-expanding definition of inclusiveness, and acknowledge sacred traditions from around the globe. Our "Sacred Classics" concert invites you to celebrate the joys of summer in a collection of well-loved anthems revealing the human spirit's profound connection to the divine. This symphony of praise, gratitude, faithfulness, supplication, and reconciliation reflect multiple faith perspectives and traditions.
