Carlos Kalmar conducts the stormy Symphony No. 6 by Prokofiev and Apu by the Northern California-native Gabriela Lena Frank, who brings her own multicultural heritage (American, Lithuanian, Jewish, Peruvian and Chinese) into captivating musical expressions.
