Make Music Georgetown

About

Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, Make Music Day is celebrated on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in dozens of countries around the world. It takes place each year on the summer solstice, June 21.

Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music is open to anyone. Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, and of every musical persuasion. It involves a diverse array of talents, styles, genres, knowledge, and musical interests.

All are invited to share their love of music with friends, neighbors, and visitors. It is free and open to the public.

Let’s celebrate the musician in everyone! Join us on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

Sign up to participate as a musician or host.

Make Music Georgetown is organized by The Granite, Inc., a nonprofit community event space in the heart of Georgetown.

Participate

MUSICIANS:

Musicians of all abilities and genres are invited to showcase their talent and share their love of music during Make Music Georgetown!

The event is an all-ages, all-inclusive celebration of music. Register to be a performer by creating a profile, browsing available hosts, and making an offer to perform at a Georgetown location. The Granite will confirm all performances with you once finalized. There is no fee to participate.

HOSTS:

Make Music Georgetown wouldn’t be possible without places to host musicians. Hosts can be in front of or inside stores, restaurants, arts & culture centers, front porches, parks, churches, schools, and more.

Hosts should be accessible to the general public without an entry fee. Register to be a host, browse musician profiles, and request a performer you’d like at your location. Musicians may reach out to you directly once you have created a profile. The Granite will confirm all performances with you once finalized.
