About
The history of making music stretches back thousands of years, reflecting how we use sound to express emotions, tell stories, and build our community. June 21 is ‘Make Music Day’ and here in Hohenwald, Tn, we will celebrate music and our music heritage. From our earliest Hohenwald Swiss-German immigrant symphonies to our current front porch sing-a-longs, Rock the Lot, Summerfest and Oktoberfest Hohenwald has created a unique musical environment for all musicians and genres. By combining Grand Ole Opry humor and connections to country music legends Hohenwald is quite the musical story telling town! “Chart Your musical Journey” to Hohenwald to Make some Music on June 21st!
Participate
We invite you to ‘Make Music Day’ in Hohenwald! There will be LIVE music and workshops joining a worldwide, community-driven celebration of creativity. #MakeMusicDay
Open to all: You don’t need to be a professional musician -the spirit is participation and connecting with your local community. Email if your are interested in participating (as a venue or a performer). hohenwald@makemusicday.org
Make Music Day turns everyday spaces: sidewalks, parks, storefronts into stages. It’s a chance to meet neighbors, collaborate, and be part of something visible and joyful in your own town.
It’s a global movement: happening in hundreds of towns and cities worldwide, inspired by Fête de la Musique over 40 years ago in Europe. A great way to experience music on a creative level!
Have you ever wanted to perform or try out new material? This is an opportunity to try it!
There’s no cost to participate, and events are free to attend. There will also be free musical instruments at some participating venues (first come, first served).
