Make Music Knoxville offers all natives and newcomers the opportunity to add a chorus to the rich musical history of our city.
We welcome singers, rappers, unamplified instruments of all types, percussionists, experimental musicians, tap dancers, and anyone else with a song in their heart to join in as we showcase the wealth of talent and creativity that makes up our community.
Make Music Knoxville is open to all: professionals, amateurs, children, adults, choirs, soloists…anyone with the desire to perform is welcome to join.
Make Music Day is a free, outdoor music celebration observed worldwide each year on June 21, the first day of summer. The celebration features music of all genres and is open to anyone who wishes to participate. Performances take place in parks, patios, and in public squares. Make Music Day started in 1982 and has since grown to over 750 cities worldwide.
Make Music Knoxville 2026 will take place on Sunday, June 21.

Find Your Spotlight
REGISTRATION FOR 2025 HAS CLOSED. 2026 artist registration will open in February.
Make Music Knoxville welcomes musicians, singers, rappers, and instrumentalists of any and all types to create a musical tapestry for the Knoxville community on June 21. Church choirs, glee clubs, vocal quartets, MCs, marching bands, solo acts or combos are all welcome.
To join MMK, sign up to participate by creating a profile on our online matchmaker. Artist profiles include contact information, sound bites and the type(s) of music you want to perform. Pictures, social media and website links can all be uploaded, as well.
Host a Performance

Are you interested in hosting an MMK artist or band at your business? Sign up to participate by creating a profile on our online matchmaker. Venue profiles include contact information, how long you would like to host music, what kinds of music you are interested in booking and what kind of equipment (chairs, electricity, water, etc.), if any, you can provide.
We’ll help promote your business as an MMK partner through our website, email network and social media posts to better direct attendees your way for the event. We’ll also provide you with an official MMK decal so that everyone in your community will know you support Make Music Knoxville.
Volunteer with Us
2026 volunteer registration will open in May.
To bring this vibrant day to life, we’re looking for volunteers to help with:
- Event setup and breakdown
- Welcoming and guiding performers
- Assisting with sound and equipment
- Social media and photo documentation
