Knoxville Opera’s mission is to create vocal and theatrical experiences that entertain, provoke, and console, fostering empathy and building community through music. Since our founding in 1978, we have remained the leading producer of professional opera in East Tennessee, expanding our programming to include education and community engagement initiatives alongside grand opera productions. In 2021, we launched Knoxville Opera for All, a wide-ranging program of performances and arts education designed to broaden access and deepen community ties. Over the past three years, Knoxville Opera for All has proven to be a powerful force for cultural connection, consistently drawing diverse, multigenerational audiences and introducing new listeners to the joy of vocal music.
