Bram Wijnands
Bram Wijnands is a Jazz pianist from the Netherlands. With a Jazz piano performance degree from the Conservatory of Amsterdam, he settled in Kansas City 34 years ago. Bram still travels worldwide for festivals and masterclasses plus has many former students (from his teaching time at UMKC) performing and traveling themselves. His dedication lies primarily in Swing and Stride piano like Fats waller, Art Tatum and Erroll Garner. Next to performing, he also writes Big Band arrangements, orchestrations and has performed with many greats like Bobby Watson, Deborah Brown, Gunhild Carling, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, The U.S. Coast Guard Band, and he performed for the opening of the new PAC in downtown Kansas City. Some of his highlights were performing at Jazz at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.
