About

Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, Make Music Day is celebrated on the same day in more than 2,000 cities in dozens of countries around the world. It takes place each year on the summer solstice, June 21.

Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician, — young and old, amateur and professional of every musical persuasion. It involves a diverse ray of talents, styles, genres, knowledge, skills and any musical interest.

All are invited to share their love of music with friends, neighbors, and visitors. It is free and open to the public.

Join the fun by participating, listening or watching the musical celebration on Madeline Island. What better way to celebrate this worldwide day of music and the summer solstice on a beautiful and welcoming island!
