Make Music Day is a celebration of music on the summer solstice performed by anyone and enjoyed by everyone. The celebration takes place on June 21st and goes all day. It takes place in over 1,000 cities around the world and Menard is excited to participate! You’re invited to take part in the festivities and help celebrate our love for music right here in Menard.

Menard, Texas is proud to be a Music Friendly Texas Community designated by the Texas Music Office and we hope to celebrate our rural, thriving and artistic community.

About

Everyone is invited to participate (businesses and individuals alike) by performing, hosting an outdoor event, or showing appreciation. It’s a chance to help showcase any musical talent in our unique town of Menard while celebrating music for the love of it!

Whether you’re a seasoned performer, a music student or teacher, or just someone who loves to play, Make Music Menard is the day to share your talent with the community.

Ways to participate:

  1. Performers: You can set up and play music in any open public space of your choice or partner with a venue or business.
  2. Music workshops are another great way to participate! Whether you teach guitar, harmonica, sousaphone or the recorder, you can host a workshop for any age group.
  3. Business/Venues: Have a great spot for a musical event? You can partner with a performer or workshop to sponsor your own unique, musical experience.

Note: Venues are responsible for compensating performers if necessary.

Note: Registering let’s us know the location and time of your event is so we can coordinate with others in the community and so we can get the word out!
