Thank you all, musicians, residents and volunteers that helped make our first Make Music Day Nassau County 2025 in downtown Fernandina Beach, the wonderful success that it turned out to be. We look forward to making it bigger and better this year, with music performed by anyone, everywhere and free for everyone.

About

Make Music Nassau County is a free, day of music held annually on June 21st, the longest day of the year. This year, 2026 we will be holding this event once again in Downtown Centre Street, Fernandina Beach and also in Wildlight. Our Make Music Day festival is part of the larger Make Music Day, an international summer solstice music celebration occurring in 2,000+ cities across the globe and 150 cities in the US. We hope this year, shops, restaurants, and other locations in downtown Fernandina Beach will fill with music for everyone to enjoy!

What?

Music “Performed by Anyone, Enjoyed by Everyone.”
A celebration of the summer solstice and the longest day of the year.
A buffet of musical merriment.
A Do-It-Yourself city-wide fest where making music can and will happen. Music-By the people, for the people!
Open to music makers of all ages, skill levels, and musical persuasions.

When?
June 21st, 2026, 11am- 5pm

Where?
In 2026 we will again be downtown Amelia Island and adding Wildlight in Yulee.

Participate

SIGN UP AS A PERFORMER OR VENUE

Musicians: All styles, ages, and experience levels are invited to register to perform and participate on Make Music Day! You can play one set or schedule as many as you like.

Venues: Whether you have a lot space, sidewalk, café, or other space in mind, it’s easy and there’s no cost to participate.

What is Matchmaking?
Matchmaking is our system of connecting musicians with venues. After creating an account, venues can browse musician profiles and vice versa and participants request a booking. A few tips:

Don’t be shy! Feel free to send requests. It helps to put yourself out there and you can book as many shows as you want.
Respond to requests in a timely manner. No one likes to wait to hear back. If it’s not a good fit, let the other party know so they can move on.
Follow up! You can send direct messages through the system or reach out via phone or email.
In the end, just about everyone who wants to participate will match up. If you need assistance, send a message to nassaucounty@makemusicday.org.

Who can host?

Is your venue located in downtown Fernandina Beach or Wildlight?
Is it free and accessible to the public?
Can you maintain a 6′ clearance on the sidewalk for the pedestrian passage?

Locations this year 2026 we will offer:

Downtown Fernandina Beach– Pocket Park; Welcome Center depot; Gazebo at Waterfront Park; Historic Courthouse; Butterfly Wall by Tourist center; Island Art Association courtyard.

At Wildlight there is- 3 locations. Daydream and Tinker St., Pioneer Park, and park in Front of pond, across from main office Bldg. on 1 Rayonier Way.

Make Music Day is free in downtown Fernandina and In Wildlight. We rely on volunteers to keep things running smoothly. That means we need your help on June 21st! If you’re available on this day and would like to help, please reach out to us. Here are just some of the things that you might be doing throughout the day:

Tell passerby’s about Make Music Nassau County and answer any questions.
Take photos of the event and post to social media.
Assist performers with setup and breakdown between artists.
Help run sound checks and power.
