Make Music Day

New York Unites to Make Music on June 21!

Join the chorus of Make Music New York State, where world-class talent and first-time performers alike add their voices to the Empire State’s rich musical legacy. On June 21, 2025, New York celebrates the longest day of the year with the joy of live music, from Western New York and the Finger Lakes, to the Capital Region and Hudson Valley.

We invite artists of all ages and genres, amateur and professional alike, to sign up to perform free concerts on June 21 in public spaces throughout the state. Everyone is welcome, and we mean everyone — even if you’ve never touched an instrument before, our regional organizers will have free music lessons and special hands-on music making opportunities just for you. And if you have a location to offer — a storefront, park, porch, or sidewalk — we invite you to sign up to host musicians on June 21. Just find your local celebration to get started!

Make Music Day programs in New York State are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
