Make Music Day

2024 Listings: Friday, June 21st

JAW formed in 2022 when brothers Julian and Arthur Weston, ages 13 and 11, teamed up with classmate William Emmert, 10, to enter the school talent show. Following the recipe of classic three-piece bands from the 80s and 90s like Nirvana, Green Day, and The Police, JAW layers melodic vocals on top of guitar, bass, and drums. The resulting sound echos the heyday of rock, too, as they belt out tunes by artists like The Clash, Joan Jett, and Oasis. But this isn’t just another cover band—in addition to playing the classics, JAW has been steadily adding original compositions to their repertoire. While public performance opportunities can be limited for middle-school-aged kids, JAW has enjoyed playing at a number of city block parties and neighborhood festivals throughout Brooklyn, performing for up to an hour per set. They’ve also appeared at venues such as The Bitter End, DSK Brooklyn, and The Art Café & Bar. JAW is also available for private parties and events.
