Damian Quińones
Akin to a mix tape made from his uncle's old vinyl collection, Bronx born songwriter, Damian Quiñones and his band mix strong Nuyorican influenced compositions with an inventiveness that can can only come from an ensemble well versed in rock and roll and latin jazz informed improvisation. The horn driven band percolates with percussion and a fiery twin guitar attack that brings the all original set alive with the eclectic sounds of the city streets Quiñones has written music for television and film and performs regularly with his second project, Analog Experimental. He was awarded "best score" by the NYU Short Film Festival 2013 for his soundtrack to the film "Flood" by Katy Scoggin. Quiñones is also an arts educator who has regularly worked with NYC public school students and communities, most recently as an aesthetic arts teaching artist for Lincoln Center Education.
