Sam Leviatin
Sam Leviatin is an award-winning trumpet player majoring in Jazz Performance at the Frost School of Music. They have received honors such as the Jazz Education Network's 2024 David Baker Award, and have shared the stage with musical icons such as Chucho Valdes, Marcus Miller, Avery Sharpe, Mike Mainieri, and many more. In addition to these legends, Sam has performed in notable venues including Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, and the Frick Collection, and they have toured throughout Cuba. They are also showcased in the soundtrack of the 2024 video game “Ready, Steady, Ship” and can be heard in Platinum Moon’s “Hypocrite” and Puddley’s “Mrs. Johnson”. Sam is also a composer and arranger. Their compositions embrace various styles and instrumentations, including classical bands and jazz large and small ensembles. Their works have been performed by Frost ensembles and at the Litchfield Jazz Festival and Summer Camp.
