Kid Bowery
Kid Bowery makes sleaze-folk. Sleaze-folk has dirty layers and a messy personality and algorithms despise it, but rats around the East Village find it familiar enough for a good time. His songs nod to psych and writer-centered album rock of the 1970's. You should also know that Kid Bowery is a sucker for narrative in song. And that he tends toward lushly arranged vocals but sneaks in the sawtooth wave wherever he can because "harmony is a tyrant sometimes, and a bulwark of harnessed electricity keeps all that in check." Kid Bowery is pleased to have violated only some of these closely held tenets on his is latest self-produced release, "Brother Honey Passes Before Us."
