Brooklyn-born and driven by soul, Janie May writes songs about what happens after you survive, when you choose yourself and don’t look back. Rooted in pop soul with influences from R&B, blues, and country storytelling, her music explores identity, resilience, and emotional freedom. Drawing comparisons to the emotional depth of Amy Winehouse and the strength of Gloria Gaynor, Janie pairs incisive lyricism with raw vocal power. A classically trained ballet dancer, she treats music as a full-body art form, weaving movement and visual storytelling into her work. Her sophomore album, Not Going Back, arrives February 2026.
