Richmond Recorder Ensemble
The Richmond Recorder Ensemble was established in 2008 by Dr. Steven Soffer and his wife Bettye. They are well versed performing different styles of music including Classical, Broadway, Pop, Folk and Early Music. The Ensemble has performed at a variety of venues such as museums, art shows, Staten Island Greenbelt Nature Center, Historic Richmond Town, local churches and schools. In February 2020 the ensemble won “Staten Island Has Talent”. Members play instruments ranging from sopranino, soprano, alto, tenor bass, flute, piccolo and piano. Valeda Zaage Bell serves as the ensemble’s Music Director and writes original compositions for the group. Celeste Lederer serves as Liaison for Public Performances. Current members are: Valeda Zaage Bell, Anita Berger, Susan Campagna, Denise Canlon, Druanne Dillon, Linda Keltz, Celeste Lederer, Bettye Soffer and Anthony Tepedino.
