Make Music Day

Abaddón Tango Ensemble

Embrace the beauty, romance, and grace of Argentinian tango as you dance to the enchanting live sounds of New York’s own Abaddón Tango ensemble. Abaddón exemplifies the rich tradition of the tango sextet, showcasing the versatility and artistry to be found at the very pinnacle of the art. Established in 2016 by an accomplished band of east coast musicians based in New York and Philadelphia—including Shinjoo Cho and David Hodges on bandoneons, Sergio Reyes and Ina Paris on violins, Emilio Teubal on piano, and Pablo Lanouguere on bass, with guest musicians Alejo de los Reyes on guitar and vocalist Paula Serrano—the Abaddón collective has played to full houses and rave reviews at major arts and culture festivals around the world. Individually, Abbadón's members are all active performers, composers, and musical instructors, spreading the vibrant gospel of tango wherever they go. The program begins with a short instructional class to teach newcomers the basic steps and dance floor etiquette
