Due to the pandemic, they have a pared down DOMF this year where they are utilizing only the Fullerton Museum Plaza as an official venue. Fort Lauderdale: FUN Florida Ukulele Network is a group of ukulele loving players in South Florida. Join FUN Florida Ukulele Network to celebrate Make Music Day at Fort Lauderdale’s Main Library from 4:30 to 5:30 pm for their Play and Sing Along Hour. Key Largo: Keys Community Concert Band is a community band that will perform a free Pops-in-the-Park concert for Make Music Day. The concert features other local groups (like the Ukulele Band, the Mangrove Swamp Band and a church hand bell choir) and always include one rhythm instrument play-along for the audience. Lauderdale-by-the-Sea: FEMINAFRIKA, an all-female world music percussion ensemble, will perform at El Prado Park in celebration of Make Music Day. The group was conceived and assembled by percussionist Grecia Garrett and features fiery rhythms from all over the globe, including Latin, Caribbean, Brazilian, West African, and Middle Eastern rhythms. Indianapolis: The Marianne Tobias Music Program, a live music performance program at Indianapolis’s essential hospital, Eskenazi Health, will feature local Latin Jazz ensemble Pavel & Direct Contact for an outdoor performance on June 21 in celebration of Make Music Day. Mentor: Join Pfabe’s Music for their Ukulele Circle on Headlands Beach. They will sing and play as the sun sets over Lake Erie! Bring your ukulele and a friend. Bellingham: Music teachers from Bellingham Music will be leading hands-on instrument demonstrations including steel drums, singing, guitar, and more!
