About
Let’s Make Music, Rocky Hill
Make Music Day is a global celebration of music that takes place annually on June 21st. It’s a free, public event that encourages people of all ages and skill levels to participate in making music. Whether you’re a professional musician or just someone who enjoys playing an instrument, the idea is to bring people together through music.
The event was started in France in 1982 as “Fête de la Musique” and has since spread to countries around the world. On Make Music Day, public spaces like parks, streets, and plazas are transformed into concert venues where anyone can perform, and the focus is on inclusivity and community participation. It’s a day to celebrate the joy of creating and sharing music.
The day is usually filled with performances, jam sessions, workshops, and musical collaborations, and it encourages creativity and cultural exchange. It’s a great way to experience the power of music in connecting people from all walks of life!
For the second year, the Town of Rocky Hill is bringing Make Music to our local community!
Make Music Rocky Hill is brought to you by Rocky Hill Arts Now.
A special thank you to: The Town of Rocky Hill Economic Development Office with the support of the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development, Office of the Arts.
