Light Treason

Light Treason is the brain child of Pacific Northwest based musician Ronan Baker. Hailing from the lonely position of solo, everything you hear is from the darkest corners of Light Treason’s mind. Some attribute his sound akin to that of Bright Eyes, Sufjan Stevens, or Kevin Devine. A veteran of Oregon Indie outfits Sleep Millennium and Allies From Nowhere, Ronan now performs under the moniker Light Treason when he is not teaching piano, asking questions, or paying tribute to David Bowie on the big stage. A fan of spoken word artists such as Sage Francis or Allen Ginsberg reading his seminal poem “Howl,” Light Treason attempts to thematically tie each album together with spoken vignettes to illustrate each separate offense that creates Light Treason, the act not the entity. Offenses that could range from a lack of sobriety, hubris or even absence. Light Treason is currently recording a third concept album titled “Ghost Light.”
