Celebrate the start of summer with Make Music Westport sponsored by MoCA\CT (Museum of Contemporary Art \ Connecticut in collaboration with our neighbors in Wilton, Weston, and Norwalk) on June 21!
Join the area-wide music celebration as streets, sidewalks, cafes, stores, and restaurants come alive with inclusive performances by any interested musician or group—and it’s all free for everyone.
Part of the global Make Music Day movement, Make Music in Greater Westport brings communities together through the universal language of music every June 21, the summer solstice.

Participate
Completely different from a typical music event, Make Music Westport is open to anyone who wants to take part. On June 21, every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical genre — shares their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers.
Across the globe, thousands of amateur musicians take the opportunity to play for free in public spaces. Professional musicians perform for new audiences, who come out from under their headphones to hear unfamiliar groups. Everyone is invited to sing along and enjoy the first day of summer.
Anyone and everyone can participate! Amateurs, part-time professionals, and established artists are all welcome.
Support
Westport’s Make Music Day celebration is completely run with generous support from MoCA\CT and a host of volunteers. We invite you to help recruit musicians and venues and welcome anyone who would like to volunteer to help out with the event!
Business and individual sponsorships are encouraged to help grow the event and underwrite costs that may be a barrier to participation for some venues or musicians. Support Make Music Day by sharing social media posts and music schedules with your family, friends, and business associates.
