Make Music Wilmington

Voices Workshop Community Choir Network

Founded in 2020, Voices Workshop began as the first-ever community choir hosted by Hannah Block Historic/USO Community Arts Center. Under the creation and leadership of Silivea Johnson—then a member of the Thalian Association’s Board of Directors—the choir was initiated to foster goodwill in the community through a harmonious blend of voices from all ages and backgrounds. In 2024, Voices Workshop transitioned into an independent community network that organizes various one-day, two-day, or specialized workshops, culminating in finale performances at venues across the region. However, our cherished tradition remains: an annual, free-to-participate live holiday concert each December, proudly sponsored by the Hannah Block Community Arts Center. Our mission is to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment where singers of all levels—amateurs and professionals alike—can explore their passion for music, learn new techniques, and build lasting friendships.
