Mobile Hallelujah
Mobile Hallelujah returns with conductor Douglas Anderson and producer Melissa Gerstein bringing Handel’s iconic “Hallelujah Chorus” to the streets of NYC through a series of pop-up choral performances. Singers gather at major midtown landmarks, surprising passersby with spontaneous renditions of the famous piece. Performances begin at 2:00pm at the New York Public Library, then continue every 15 minutes at Grand Central, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Duffy Square, Carnegie Hall, the Turnstyle Underground Market, and conclude at Lincoln Center at 3:30pm. Any singer who knows their part is invited to join by arriving at their preferred location on time, though RSVPs are appreciated. Participants can download free sheet music and practice files in advance, and questions can be sent to the organizers via email.
