Make Music Day

Make Music Australia

The Australian Music Association founded Australia’s first nationwide Make Music Day celebration in 2018, and now organizes the event in collaboration with Australia’s Live Music Office. On June 21, 2019, Make Music Australia featured over 150 events covering every state and territory.

Music Making Across the Country

In its first two years, Make Music Australia has partnered with the Sydney Opera House, AMEB, the New South Wales library system, Create NSW, Transport for NSW, and Community Music Victoria, as well as schools and conservatories, music industry groups, music venues, radio stations, and community groups. Highlights in 2019 included a 500-person flash mob choir in Sydney’s largest train station, and a livestreamed performance of oud virtuoso Joseph Tawadros with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
